Taxonomy of Semantic Web Service Development: Model-Driven Approaches

Abstract

Nowadays, with widespread use of Web services in current application systems, the demand for automatic Web service composition has significantly increased. However, Semantic Web service enriches Web services by semantic description to facilitate automatic Web service discovery, composition, invocation, and interoperation. The adoption of semantic description for Web services is yet slow down due to the complexity of current Semantic Web service languages. There are several model-driven approaches to overcome the complexity of these languages. In this paper, we classify the state-of-the-art model-driven researches and approaches for developing Semantic Web service description to give an essential perspective of this research area.
