The Analytic Network Process Approach to Select Location for Industrial Area for Projects

Abstract

Decision making has become a challenge for managers and organizations in the complicated world today. Multiplicity of decision factors, Variety of quantitative and qualitative criteria, and the need to consider them at the same time and the Significance of the effects and consequences of decisions and factors will increase the complexity of making decision. Therefore, in recent year?s mathematical methods and computer knowledge assist to solve decision making problem and multiple criteria decision making technique and Decision Support Systems (including expertise in industrial engineering, computer and industrial managers) has established. In this research with applying Analytic Network Process (ANP) in determining optimal site for construction of industry zone in one area has been studied. It is indicated by result that Analytic Network Process (ANP) with features such as simplicity, flexibility, using quantitative and qualitative indicators simultaneously, ability to check the consistency of judgments and ability to rank the options could provide suitable framework for analyzing the problems.
